The National Honor Society (NHS) induction will take place on March 22, according to NHS sponsor Michele Satchwell.
“NHS induction is the formal ceremony where (NHS applicants) receive their official certificates,” Satchwell said. She also said that there were 344 juniors who applied for NHS.
“We’ve had the highest praise for this group of juniors that are being inducted. They were very impressed with their applications,” Satchwell said.
However, Joe Philleo, Key Club president and junior did not want to be a part of it.
“It’s a lot like Key Club, in that it’s a volunteer organization. To me NHS always seemed to be a more rigid Key Club, and it’s selective. But I prefer Key Club more because volunteering is something that students should be able to do,” Philleo said.
