LifeLines is currently preparing for Pre-Spring Break Awareness Week, which will be from March 30 to April 2.
According to sponsor Rebekah Overbey, guest speaker Kira Hudson will come in on March 30.
“We do have a guest speaker coming in, and I believe this guest speaker will be talking to our Sophomore Class,” she said. “(Her talk will be) on making good choices and relationships to, I believe, it’s about cell phone usage.”
Overbey said the members still need to discuss other events, but they will most likely make announcements that week.
“We’ll probably just do announcements because our guest speaker is scheduled for that Monday (before break). That’ll be the big thing about it,” she said. “If we get a chance to do some posters and have some things hanging around the school, we’ll do that. Otherwise, it’ll be the guest speaker, and I’ll see what else the kids would like to do besides the announcements.”
Co-president and senior Sydney Burget said she believes Pre-Spring Break Awareness Week is important to students.
“Pre-Spring Break Awareness Week is important because although everyone is very excited about going off on spring break, some students without parents, it is still important to be able to make the best decision and know the consequences of the bad decision,” she said. “I think students don’t always realize the consequences, but by knowing how to make good choices is really changing our world altogether.”
