WHJE is planning on continuing its radio program during the new school year. According to newscaster and junior Dan Burkhard, the station will keep a consistent agenda similar to that of last year’s.
Burkhard said, “Right now we’re just starting to get in the swing of things. We have our five departments — sports, news, promotions, program and public service — so a lot of people are sectored off doing their own separate things.”
Burkhard also said he is looking forward to the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters (IASB) radio competition next March.
According to WHJE adviser Brian Spilbeler, the radio station has a lot going on but the projects are similar compared to last year.
“The structure is pretty much the same. For the most part, we are trying to improve what we’ve done in the past,” Spilbeler said.
