The exact date for the next Aperture Club meeting is still uncertain. Currently, the club is in need of more members. Normally, there will be a monthly photography contest. Members will vote on the top two pictures they think are the best. Those two winners will receive an award for their outstanding pictures, according to co-president and senior Steven Brisley.
After the contest, the club members will decide on what the theme for the next photography contest should be. Previous themes have included nature, landscape, portrait and “free roll.”
As one of the founders and co-presidents of the Aperture Club, Brisley, along with senior Michelle Hu, plays an important role in this club. The two organize meetings, manage the public relations and communicate with the members of the club.
“I allow the students to make the decisions regarding the club,” Aperture Club sponsor Jim Streisel said.
It is never too late to join this club. Anyone who is interested in photography is welcome to join the Aperture Club; experience is not required, according to Brisley.
“[This is] a small club where students are free to talk and exchange ideas about photography,” Brisley said. “It gives an opportunity to enjoy photography as just a hobby.”
