Nationally, the 2024 U.S. presidential election took place on Nov. 5, drawing one of the highest voter turnouts in recent history. Key battleground states like Pennsylvania and Georgia saw close contests. Ultimately, Donald Trump will be the next U.S. president.
In Carmel, 1600 CCS participate in the free and reduced lunch program, including 11% of CHS students. The Student Council supported the Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank by collecting food donations for their annual Canned Food Drive.
Lastly, November is often referred to as the “month of thanks” because of the widely celebrated national holiday, Thanksgiving. An estimated amount of $1.2 billion is spent by Americans on Thanksgiving turkeys each year, with 46 million turkeys killed for the holiday. This year, 205 million turkeys were raised, which is 6% less than previous years.
