Amelia Riegel, violin player and sophomore, prepares for class. “The understanding of the music is going well,” Riegel said, “like being able to feel what the music is actually supposed to feel like.”
On May 9, the orchestras will compete in the ISSMA state-level competition. According to director of orchestras Thomas Chen, the orchestras have been practicing very diligently during classes and rehearsals.
“Every orchestra is very well-prepared for their upcoming performances, (but) it’s a busy time of the school year for students.” Chen said via email. “Keeping everyone energized, engaged, and motivated is the biggest challenge for this part of the school year.”
According to Amelia Riegel, violin player and sophomore, the orchestras are doing well with the understanding of the music during rehearsals and when practicing.
“I think the orchestra is doing well with getting the feel of certain pieces,” Riegel said, “(and) I think the understanding of the music is going well.” By Alice Yang
