The Science Olympiad is scheduled to continue meeting on Wednesdays throughout the year. Club sponsor Fran Rushing says the members will be dividing into small groups in November according to the event each student prefers. The events consist of different subjects in life, physical and earth sciences, the nature of science and engineering and technology. Some events just need studying in preparation, while others actually require building something.
Terry Ming, second year member and sophomore, hopes to be a part of the physical sciences team.
“Carmel is stronger in the study events; we need stronger builders on the team,” Ming said.
Meets will not be held until February, and 15 of the 72 members will compete with other students from around Indiana. By Keeli Curtis <[email protected]>
