After finishing the changes the vocational building trades class had to make for the new homeowners of last year’s house, the class will begin work at the Flowing Well Park. It will rehab the structure directly above the well and the picnic structure.
Since this year’s class is not building a house, John Coghlan, the vocational building trades teacher, has been trying to find projects that his class can work on. He contacted the Carmel Parks Department to see if it had any projects that needed done. It responded back with the problems at Flowing Well Park. According to Coghlan, the Carmel Parks Department is providing the materials and the vocational building trades class is providing the labor. Earlier this year, the vocational building trades house also teamed with Carmel Parks Department to do some work at Cary Grove Park.
Kevin van Hoorde, second year student of the class and senior, said the work at Flowing Well Park will be easy. “We did it earlier this year at Carey Grove Park,” van Hoorde said.
Van Hoorde also doesn’t have any worries about recent the cold weather. “We’ll live,” van Hoorde said. By Julie Kippenbrock <[email protected]>
