The vocational building trades class still continues to work on both the changes to last year’s house for the new homeowners and rehabbing the structures at the Flowing Well Park. John Coghlan, the vocational building trades teacher, said the projects will be finished by the end of the semester.
To finish both jobs on time, Coghlan has split his two classes to do each job. His Gold Day class works on the changes to the house and his Blue Day class works at the Flowing Well Park.
The new homeowners are scheduled to move in a week or two before Christmas. All that is left to complete is the sunroom, some flooring and shutters and planter boxes on the windows. “It’s been nice (the class) has been able to work on an actual house,” Coghlan said.
Much progress has also been made at the Flowing Well Park. The bad material on the structures has been torn off and the class has started to rebuild them.
Kevin van Hoorde, second year student of the class and senior, works on the Flowing Well Park. He thinks the project is slow going. “I kind of expected it to go a little faster,” van Hoorde said. “It’s getting a little cold.” By Julie Kippenbrock <[email protected]>
