At the last school board meeting on Sept. 27, members used the new Board Notes program for myCCS for the first time. According to school board president Tricia Hackett, Board Notes will provide the community with information about school board meetings in a more timely, efficient and environmental way by posting directly in myCCS.
“Those in attendance were very patient as we moved through our meeting using computer monitors instead of paper packets,” Hackett said. “A few details must still be worked out, including providing our public with appropriate access to pertinent attachments.”
Senior Kacie Piedmonte said that Board Notes will be a benefit to students. She said she and her parents check myCCS several times a day, so it will be especially helpful.
“Since we have busy lives and usually no one goes to school board meetings, the new program will make getting information more convenient,” Piedmonte said.
The implementation of Board Notes follows this year’s trend of transparency and community involvement in district decisions.
Hackett said, “Our IT department has been working on this initiative for awhile now, and we are extremely glad to be moving forward in this way.” By Rebecca Xu <[email protected]>
