CHTV will broadcast “Carmel Clay Connection,” a monthly show featuring Superintendent Jeff Swensson. He will film the show on Nov. 3 at Prarie Trace Elementary School.
“We’ll tape the next episode (Nov. 3), and we’re going to feature the use of technology during lessons in classrooms, and we just happened to pick Prairie Trace Elementary School as the place where we go,” Swensson said. “Each month is kind of a different story–different information for the community, and always something, of course, about our schools, and I think it’s most interesting to go out, to be on location, to be with real people doing real live things.”
“It’s different programs, different people, and there’s 11 elementary schools and three middle schools; there’s quite a few places to go and people to talk to,” CHTV advisor Hal Espey said.
“I’m always looking for good ways to portray what excellence is about, and of course, excellent learning involves the activities of students and teachers,” Swensson said. “That’s one of the interesting things about going to a real school and talking to real people, you never know exactly what’s going to happen. And actually, you know, I think that’s very reflective of what schools are about; we’ve always been very intentional about learning, we’re always very intentional about preparing and aiming at different goals.” By Sarah Matthews
