This spring, there will be many Senate sponsored events. There will be March Madness and a Japanese exchange program reception. Senate is also working on a CHS Field Day.
“We have three events this month. We have March Madness, Brain Game and we are planning the reception for the Japanese exchange program,” said Senate member and sophomore Ryan Cason.
According to Michelle Foutz, Senate sponsor and social studies teacher at this school, flyers will be handed out this Wednesday and Friday to SRTs, and will draw teams next week.
Cason said the Senate will be adding a new event this spring. “We’re planning a new event called the Carmel High School Field Day. There will be games as a team competition, but we are still in the planning process.”
According to Foutz, the proceeds will go to a good cause. “The purpose of the event was to raise money for melanoma research, which is an issue close to our hearts [in Senate].”
