The call-out meeting date for this year’s Model U.N. is currently undecided according to club sponsor Tracy Hadden. Although Hadden does not know the exact date, she said it is possible that it would be sometime in September or October.
“We’re still figuring out the dates when it comes to the meetings and the competitions,” she said.
Hadden said that the organization is currently not planning on doing anything different to the organization this year.
Senior Nikhil Dharan, who was in Model U.N. last year and plans to re-join, said that Model U.N. appeals to a wide variety of students, leading it to success every year.
“People who like public speaking, such as those on speech team and debate, are more than right for it,” he said. “Also, anyone who keeps up with their current events, enjoys social studies, and likes to learn about other cultures would get a lot out of it.”
Hadden said that they usually have about 100 participants every year.
“We’d like to keep that number going,” she said. “That’s about where they want us.”
