The aquatic center will host its annual fundraiser swim-a-thon on Oct. 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. All Carmel Swim Club members will take part in the swim-a-thon, but anyone in the Carmel community can participate. The swimmers have two hours to swim a maximum 200 pool lengths. A blood drive will also be held at the same time. All proceeds will go to the aquatic center.
Aquatic center director Kinsey Wallace said she has finished organizing and planning the fundraiser. “I have all the guards, I’ve gotten the word out, now all I can do is wait and see who shows up,” Wallace said.
Freshman and swimmer Emma Hitchcock said she is looking forward to participating. “I didn’t do it last year but I’m hoping to raise a lot of money by swimming,” Hitchcock said.
