Chess Club members will begin their monthly blitz tournaments as soon as possible, according to Brian Mcdonald, officer of Chess Club and senior. They will on the first Monday of each month after school in Room F104.

“We’re still trying to build interest…(the tournaments) should (start) pretty soon,” McDonald said. Members as well as non-members are welcome to participate, he said.

According to freshman Matthew “Matt” McDonald, the monthly blitz tournaments are essentially series of quick games.

Club members are also planning for T-shirt sales in the future.

“We’re holding a competition on the design for this year’s T-shirt,” Brian said. According to him, further information on this will be on the video announcements.

All are welcome at the Chess Club, known to the members as Chess Club Best Club, according to Brian. Brian, along with other members, constantly invites and challenges students to games.

“This is how we sort of draw people in,” Brian said
