German Club will attend the German State Competition, Staatskongress, at Ball State University on Feb. 25 from 7 to 7:30 p.m. The event will include both cultural and academic competitions.
Laura King, club sponsor and German teacher, said this event is open to all German students, and as a result of this event, there will be no executive board meeting for the February event.
“[Staatskongress] holds several different competitions under different categories all relating to German,” president and senior Michaela Bunting said via e-mail. “Also, each year, they have different themes to go along with the events.”
Some of the competitions that will be held in the event include handicraft, art and baking within the cultural division, and cultural trivia, grammar and impromptu speaking in the academic division.
