The Gay-Straight Alliance will meet on March 1 to take t-shirt orders and continue working in small groups. So far, the groups have designed the club t-shirt, discussed teachers’ rights and fund-raised about $100.
“Since I’ve started [being a member] in GSA, we’ve been talking about t-shirts and commercials, but we’ve never been able to actually do it,” president and senior Reid Libby said. “We’re closer than ever.”
All of the progress made within the groups will be put to use for this semester’s event, Day of Silence on April 20.
The GSA plans to take more action as the date approaches, ordering stickers and explanatory cards which will describe to teachers what the participants are doing. “We are getting our name out there,” Libby said. “It’s a good thing.”
