The Carmel Education Foundation (CEF) Committee is in the process of selecting the 2012 recipients for the 68 scholarships awarded by the foundation.
Over 180 CHS students applied for the scholarships provided by the CEF. A three-person committee, consisting of members of the board review, the application, transcript, and, if provided, the Student Aid Report of the FAFSA as they consider applicants for the selection process.
“The committee was given two binders of scholarship application materials a few weeks ago so they could read the applications in advance of the committee meeting, which will run about 3 hours,” CEF director Dorothy Ilgen said. The scholarship recipients will be announced at Scholarship Night on May 17 at CHS.
“Even though I’m only a freshman, I plan on using the CEF scholarship program when I am because it is such a great way to get money for college,” freshman Lexi Share said.
