The members of Comedy Sportz have been practicing to prepare for their games when the season starts during the second semester. They have meetings once a week on Fridays and occasional workshops on Saturdays in downtown Indianapolis. Their coaches, Ed Trout, head of Comedy Sportz, Indianapolis and Claire Wilcher, leader of the high school league, have been training the members by teaching them new techniques and how to practice the techniques.
According to Sponsor Jim Peterson, the members have nothing but practice going on right now. Mock trials, exhibitions and matches will all begin in January.
Bill Pfohl, junior and Comedy Sportz member said, “The team has been practicing scenics, gimmicks and musical games. We try to practice all three and we also practice “five things” which is a game like charades where you can only talk in gibberish. (You have) an action (and you switch from one thing to another). So you can have a bike and you have to pretend you are riding a bike and then you throw the bike aside and switch to something like spaghetti and pretend you’re eating spaghetti.”
