In the next UNICEF meeting, club members will discuss the bake sale of the week of April 15 and have an end of year party.
The next meeting is being scheduled and planned by future officers, as is the end of the year party. According to Janine Tang, future vice president and sophomore, the party is scheduled for the end of May and that the club members will most likely supply the food. Tang said that there may be an officer meeting prior to the bake sale.
Concerning next year’s officers, Tiffany Yeh, UNICEF secretary, treasurer, and senior, said she is satisfied with their work. Her main goal is the future officers work together and build on current progress by increasing membership and raising more money than the estimated $300 that UNICEF raised this year.
“We definitely want to move forward every year. I would hope for $400 to $500 and I think we definitely can do that because the new officers seem to have good ideas for new fundraisers next year,” Yeh said.
UNICEF sponsor, Jill Noel, said she is happy with the increased enrollment this year, and wants a further increase next year. Her primary goal is that more events happen next year and that the club raises $500, similar to Yeh’s goal.
The bake sale that took place the week of April 15 raised $127.25, short $72.75 from the projected goal of $200. Yeh is satisfied with the results. “I think it was a good success and I think they did pretty well on it (the bake sale),” Noel said.
UNICEF plans on raising more money next year from more fundraisers, such as bake sales. Janine Tang, UNICEF member, future vice president and sophomore, sold baked goods at the bake sale that raised $127.25.
