Rising Stars Club will have their first meeting on Sept. 5 after school in the Studio Theater room. At the meeting, members will be given information about the annual candy bar fundraiser. New members will also have a chance to meet other people while those who have participated in the past can discuss upcoming events.
“I decided to join Rising Stars because I thought it would be a good theater club to join,” junior Michael Shen said. According to Shen, this is his first time in a theater club and he has been a member for only a couple weeks.
Like many of the other members, Shen has been selling candy bars for the past week in hopes of helping to raise money for future events. These events include the annual hayride and banquet as well as monthly prizes and activities.
“Everyone is welcome to come,” Jim Peterson, sponsor of Rising Stars, said.
More information about upcoming events can be found on the club’s Facebook page.
