The women’s soccer team will face rival Zionsville on Oct. 6 in the IHSAA Sectional. It will be the opening game of the tournament for both teams.
Assistant coach Julie Faas said the team is very excited for the challenge Zionsville will present. “We view the tournament as a whole new season,” Faas said via email. “We go into the game confident but know we have to be at the top of our game in order to win the game. Zionsville is a good team and it will be a great game.”
Junior Molly Pittman plays for the team and said she is very excited for the tournament to begin. “I am looking forward to competing with some of the best teams in the state and having the opportunity to prove our first in the state ranking,” Pittman said.
Faas said she feels the team is well prepared but will have a hard road to make it to the State final. “We will have a tough road the whole way to the finals,” Faas said. “We will have to be tough both physically and mentally in every game. The challenge is always to take one game at a time never look ahead.”
