The Carmel Greyhounds defeated Fishers 35-20 in the Sectional matchup on Nov. 1. Due to the victory, Carmel will advance and play Fort Wayne Carroll in Fort Wayne on Nov. 8. Defensive coordinator John Hebert said that he credits the team’s hard work during practice for their victory.
“Our kids really stepped up in the fourth quarter with a big goal line stand that effectively sealed the win. Overall, we were very pleased with our effort and execution,” Hebert said.
Hebert said that the team should play well against Fort Wayne Carroll as long as the team works hard during practice. Matt Anton, left tackle and junior, also believes that hard work got the victory for Carmel. Anton said that he is working hard in the team’s journey to the State championship.
“At the end of the day, all I want is to go to State and win,” Anton said.
