Cabinet will host Zumba FTK (For The Kids) in the Freshman Cafeteria from 9:30-11 a.m. on Jan. 31. According to Cabinet sponsor Sarah Wolff, the event was successful last year and student government is looking forward to hosting it again.
“We do the event in January because it is a month when people are trying to meet their fitness goals so (Zumba is a) way to help them do that,” Wolff said.
According to Wolff, the Zumba instructors are certified and the $10 charge is what it would cost in an actual dance studio.
Mallory Marrs, Cabinet member and senior, said Cabinet has been working on advertising not only in the school but also throughout the community.
“Through student government, we’re always trying to reach different people and different peoples’ interests,” Wolff said.
Marrs said, “I’m looking forward to the atmosphere surrounding (Zumba). It’s not about how well you can dance or Zumba for that matter, it’s about how much fun you put into it.”
