Members of Wild Bunch will begin their last season of supporting CHS sports this year, this week as spring sports begin. It won’t be the last season for some, however. Juniors are being allowed to take leadership positions this spring, according to Anna Katsis, Wild Bunch president and senior.
“I feel like we’re ready. Everyone knows what their job is and what they’re supposed to be doing. There are just so many new leaders. They seem like they can handle it though, so it’ll be interesting to see how they do,” Katsis said.
According to Katsis, ideas of tailgates and themes for track and field meets and baseball games are being thrown around, and concrete plans will form soon. These raise attendance levels and add excitement to the athletic events, she said.
“I’m hoping for attendance levels to go back up. Seniors are just ready to get out (of high school), so they aren’t motivated to attend games,” Katsis said.
Hats to wear at games and meets are not ready yet, according to Wendy Gerardot, Wild Bunch sponsor.
“The hats will be in soon, but they haven’t arrived yet,” Gerardot said. “Meanwhile, I’m confident that the weather will bring more people out as it gets warmer.”
