Anime Club plans to meet again on October 5, following the previous meeting on September 21. The new schedule for meetings will be every Gold day Monday. This meeting will start off a fresh list of anime, revealed on the day. Club members will also have a chance to design and/or submit club locker signs to club president Olive Phillips. Phillips corresponded that there will need to be an approximate three submissions for the voting on signs to take place.
“I already made one…a humanoid half-human half-dragon (character)”, said member Annie Harenburg. She is the first submission, Phillips replied when asked about early submissions. Harenburg relayed that character designs must be completely original to avoid copyright infringement.
Harenburg wants to see the club explore a variety of new anime introduced this season. “I hope we do more recent anime. We tend to do people’s favorites, what people have (already) watched, but I’m hoping that we’ll do some new anime that come out this year,” she said. According to Harenburg, new anime and anime seasons will premiere this October (like the popular volleyball anime, Haikyuu!).
Interested students can go to the Oct. 5 meeting or any other activity fair to check out club details. Anime club sponsor Mrs. Rita Winters said, “ They always participate in homecoming booths…they participate in every activity in the school that they can. Whenever there’s an activity that involves clubs, they participate.
