The Chess Club meets after school in Room F104 every monday to play chess and talk to other students involved in the club. Sponsor Margaret Winans said that any student can join; they just have to bring their own boards.
Winans said that the members plan everything and decide what happens during the meetings. The members have no events coming up, but they are allowed to plan any activities themselves.
“If they want to play other schools, then the students need to contact the other school and see if they can play them,” said Winans.
Although there are not any officers elected, the members have decided that they will have two designated co-presidents. Co-presidents and juniors Rohan Arora and Scott Klutz said they had been talking about starting up the club again during the summer, so they talked to Winans about having her sponsoring the club this year.
“I’m sponsoring the club so kids have a chance to play,” said Winans.
