On Sept 14, b.w.p. and Associates, the outside consulting firm in charge of finding a new superintendent, conducted a leadership profile audit. From the information gathered in the meetings, the firm will be able to begin the search.
Ron Barnes, consultant with the firm, said, “During the (leadership profile audit) we developed a list of character traits and qualifications for the superintendent search.” From this list, the firm will be able to narrow down applicants. The deadline to apply for the superintendent position is Nov. 1.
By early November, the firm will present six names to the school board where there will be an interview screening. After this, the list of names will be narrowed down to three, and a more extensive interview process will take place. Barnes said that by Thanksgiving, they will have found a new superintendent.
Superintendent Barb Underwood plans to retire at the end of December. She said she hopes the individual taking her place will strive to make the district even better. She said, “I would anticipate and hope that the next person will take what we already have and raise the bar.”
