The aquatics center has started spring programming, according to aquatics center director Nicole Bills. She also said the number of classes increases as the volume of swimmers getting ready for spring break and summer increase.
Bills said that the aquatics center will have a nice break from swim meets and other activities after a busy winter. “The club has been busy with swim meets every weekend to finish their championship seasons,” said Bills. “We hosted divisionals the first weekend of March. Last week was senior State here in Indy and age group state takes place this weekend at IUPUI. After this weekend we will be conducting evaluations for new swimmers to join the team.”
According to lifeguard and junior Kailani Knox, there will be no major events taking place in the aquatics center till the end of April, when the Carmel Swim Club hosts the Carmel Sprint Triathlon. Knox said, “I am really looking forward to this break from meets and also the triathlon in April. The triathlon is always a lot of fun and also kid-friendly, so I would highly encourage everyone to come.” By Ameya Belamkar
