After school, Dr. Coleman speaks at a Nov. 19 Club Med meeting to members and leaders of the club. Coleman said he is both the grandfather of one of the leaders and also a practicing plastic surgeon.
Club Med leaders continue to plan their next meeting, which will occur after winter break. Their last meeting featured Dr. Coleman, a plastic surgeon.
Co-president and senior Shubi Sinha said, “We have had plastic surgeons in the past talk and they were very different. (Dr. Coleman) went through a lot of the specific burn cases, something that is pretty rare in plastic surgery. He talked about specific people and just, in general, how his plastic surgery career has grown as he has gotten older.”
Alyssa Mastin, club sponsor and science teacher said she also thought Dr. Coleman was different than the previous plastic surgeons that the club has hosted. She said, “ I liked a lot of the before and after pictures that he showed. He was actually able to show real things that happened (in the field). He showed that there was a real life application for everything that he does.” By Tara Kandallu
