The date of the next Twilight Club meeting, which is usually held on every Gold Wednesday, is currently unknown, due to scheduling issues.
Jamelynn “Jaymo” Callahan, president and creator of the Twilight Club and senior, said, “I’ve been sick; I’ve also not really had time. No one’s been a leader and been able to get (Twilight Club) together, that and I haven’t really talked to (club sponsor Wendy Gerardot) if (Twilight Club meeting’s are) still okay on Gold Wednesdays for her.”
On when the club will be meeting, Gerardot said, “I don’t know what their plans are for the second semester; I haven’t talked to Jaymo, so I think our next meeting will be Jan. 27, the next gold Wednesday.”
The club has not met since, “Right before (winter) break,” according to Gerardot. But that shouldn’t be taken as an indication that Twilight Club will stop meeting. According to Callahan, the club will still be around, though, “(Twilight Club) might have to move (its meetings) to a different day,” she said.
Gerardot said that a break in meetings after winter vacation is not unusual.
“In the other groups I’ve sponsored in the past, it’s pretty typical, the break, especially as we start to get close to the holidays late in the fall, like the Thanksgiving, Christmas, final exam “Holiday Spectacular” time period. The students’ schedules just tend to get very busy and then the (winter) break comes in and then it usually takes a little bit for the students to get back in to the routine of their classes and get things back up and running again,” she said.
The planned holiday party was canceled because of scheduling conflicts. “I was sick beforehand and then I never got a hold of Gerardot.” Callahan said, “Most of our club members left early, and then my co-president, she had a job after school, so it just never came to be.”
Instead, Gerardot said, “They just had a regular meeting and talked about the movie.”
The club also has four new members. “They just heard the announcement, I guess and came,” Callahan said. “They’re very energetic about the club.” By Maxime Berclaz <[email protected]>
