On Feb. 16, 17 and 18, the Carmel Clay Education Foundation (CCEF) will be hosting its annual telethon. During these three days, NHS members will be calling the community for CCEF to receive donations and various people will be calling in to make donations, with calling hours being between 4 and 8:30 p.m.
But on Feb. 18, things will be a little different.
“Elementary and middle schools’ choirs will be performing, interviews sharing accomplishments of CCEF and future endeavors will take place,” telethon co-chair Barbara Danquist said.
According to CHTV manager and senior Mark Hodges, the event will take place in the CHS auditorium. Hodges said he will be helping with general operations and possibly hosting the event for an hour.
“It’s mostly to help ease transition,” he said.
“The funds generated from the community provide education grants for teachers. These grants help teachers develop new curriculum, access new technology, and provide other value-added educational opportunities for Carmel Clay students,” Danquist said.
According to Danquist, the TechHOUNDS were given a grant this year to allow them to compete in regional and international competitions.
“I think it’s a great way for the CCEF to make a partnership with CHTV and makes a lot of things possible,” Hodges said. By Yameen Hameed <[email protected]>
