The Twilight Club, which has not met since before winter break, may be having an end of the year meeting.
“We are going to be planning one final, before the end of the school year, meeting,” Jamelynn “Jaymo” Callahan, president and creator of the Twilight Club and senior, said.
She said she is unsure of the details, but they would be, “discussing what we think of the new ‘Eclipse’ trailer and what we think of how ‘New Moon’ turned out.”
The specifics of the meeting are unknown, but it will fall sometime before finals. On the effects that this would have regarding schedules, Callahan said, “It might not be a good time for (Twilight Club members), but I’m going to see if (the meeting) can relieve a little bit of stress.”
But club sponsor Wendy Gerardot said that she was not, “particularly optimistic,” about the chances of the meeting happening.
“I think (Callahan) wants to, I think she’s going to get too busy in the last two weeks of school and it’s not going to happen,” she said.
But she also said she thinks the meeting would be a positive occurrence. “It would be a nice end to the year,” she said.
If the meeting does take place, there exists the matter of attendance. R
egarding people showing up at the meeting, Gerardot said, “I think it’s an end of the year party, I think people would always come, especially if there’s food.” On the matter, Callahan said, “I hope they show up.”
As for what will happen to the Twilight Club next year, with Callahan leaving, Gerardot said she had not been approached about continuing the club, but she would gladly do so.
“I’m always up for sponsoring a club if someone needs it,” she said.
Callahan said she would support this, “I would like it to be carried on and hopefully done better than what I did.” By Maxime Berclaz <[email protected]>
