The Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation (CCPR) is planning Family Campout on Sept. 24-25 from 4:30 p.m. to 9 a.m. The event will cost $40 per family. Along with other events by CCPR, it tends to be geared more toward students and allows for ample volunteer opportunity.
Family Campout is located at West Park and allows students to bring along tents, blankets and other camping materials in order to spend the night outdoors. There will even be a late night hike around the park for those who do not mind staying up late. According to Lindsay Labas, marketing manager for the CCPR, Family Campout, which is accompanied by food like hamburgers, hotdogs and beans is a great way to spend time with family and meet new people.
“Family Campout and Family Bingo are two events we have coming up. These two events are a fun way to spend time with the family outside of the house, have fun with other families and students your age while competing against other families who live in your community,” Labas said.
With events like Family Campout and Family Bingo, Labas encourages students to get involved and volunteer for the CCPR. According to her, there are an immense amount of skills to be learned.
“As a volunteer with CCPR, you will learn many skills that help you learn and grow as a person. These skills include but are not limited to leadership, organization, helping others, and interacting with individuals within the community,” Labas said. By Audrey Bailey <[email protected]>
