The Rising Stars Club will host a hay ride at Stony Creek Farms on Oct. 14.
“Personally the hay ride is my favorite event that we do of the year,” said Karaline Feller, president of Rising Stars Club and senior.
She expects 30 to 40 people from the club to come out for the event. Bethany Arrington, vice president of Rising Stars Club and junior, said that usually they have that many people come out every year.
“It is so nice because we are doing skits for each other and just chilling,” Arrington said.
According to Feller, the next meeting is Nov. 4, and the theme is Thanksgiving.
“It’s basically dress up in Thanksgiving clothes. You can dress up as a pilgrim or an Indian. Anything along those lines,” Feller said.
In addition, Feller said members can bring in their favorite food to eat.
There is a skit to kick off every meeting that is usually performed by the board members.
“We are trying to incorporate more of the members in the skit for the next meeting, instead of just having the board members do them,” Arrington said.
“Rising Stars Club isn’t just for kids involved in the drama department, not just for kids in the drama classes, not just for people who do performing arts,” Feller said. “It’s for everyone. If you want to come and have a good time and be yourself and know that people won’t judge you for it, Rising Stars is a good place to go.” By Elizabeth Miller <[email protected]>
