Rollin Farrand, director of facilities and transportation, said usually at this time of the year his staff would be preparing for the annual bus inspection by the State Police. This year the date has been moved forward and will be done before the 2010-2011 school year is finished.
“Normally we are getting them ready for annual bus inspection by the State Police,” Farrand said via e-mail. “However, this year the police are inspecting during the school year which we be occurring next week for Carmel Clay Schools, so we will be doing more routine service and repair.”
Sophomore Emily Wolf said that she has not encountered any problems this school year while riding on the bus. It was a convenient ride to school, and she did not mind riding it.
“I actually liked riding the bus because I did not have to depend on rides from other students,” Wolf said. “Also, I did not have to worry about a time schedule because my bus was never late. Next year when I drive to school I will have to be on a time schedule to make sure I am not late to school.”
“The 2011-2012 school year will not have any changes in the high school regarding the transportation system,” Farrand said. “The big change will be some elementary and middle school routes that will be serving different schools due to redistricting.” By Lucy DeFruscio
