UNICEF Club officers are thinking about what fundraising opportunities will be possible for members to raise money. Club meetings have not started, and those dates will be decided in the next month.
According to Ling Ding, UNICEF Club vice president and senior, UNICEF Club meets one to two times a month for 30 to 60 minutes in room F100.
“Callouts will not be for a while, but if students want to join, we will most likely go on the morning announcements. We will start having club meetings as soon as other clubs begin to do that. This year we are thinking about doing bake sales in the cafeterias in school. We might go to the Indiana State Fair to fundraise by doing face painting, raffle draws and many other things in order to raise more money,” Ding said.
“UNICEF Club’s primary focus is to raise money for children throughout the world. We contribute money to send food to over 150 countries where there are hungry children. The money that we raise is also used to give those same children healthcare, clean water and a better life,” UNICEF Club sponsor Jill Noel said.
Ding said, “Right now if (students) want to join the club, they should just keep listening to morning announcements. Even if students do not have enough time to join the club, they can still volunteer at our events and help us out. The good thing about that is you can help UNICEF Club and get your volunteer hours for other clubs.”
