The women’s swimming and diving team prepare to compete in the Homestead and Hamilton SE & West Lafayette meets over winter break. Last week the girls competed in the Warrior Diving Invitational. The diving team will compete again over winter break at the Tiger Claw Diving Invitational.
Over winter break the team will continue to practice twice a day. According to assistant coach Paul O’Conner, the girls will continue to work hard and improve their skills but may get the chance to engage in holiday team bonding. “ Sometimes we have fun practices; last year we had a snowman-building contest. We may have a little bit of fun but we also up the tempo in practices,” he said.
Hanna House, team captain and senior, enjoys winter break practices because of the rest and team bonding. She said, “winter training is very intense but it’s also fun because we all get to hangout more often and do things outside of school together.”
