The Junior Class was recognized at the Chaucie’s Place annual “Celebrate the Children” silent auction on Oct. 6. According to Junior Class sponsor John Love, the class was recognized for choosing Chaucie’s Place as its Homecoming week charity for the past 9 years.
“(Chaucie’s Place) thanked us for our hard work and dedication,” Love said.
Chaucie’s Place is a nonprofit child advocacy center, and every child who is interviewed by the center receives a bear from the Build-a-Bear corporation during the interview.
“They gave (the Junior Class) an honorary bear,” Love said.
As the Junior Class looks to the rest of the year, Junior Class president Chris Johnson said there is a lot to look forward to.
“Pretty soon we’ll start planning for prom, in the coming months,” Johnson said. “Potentially (the Junior Class officers) will be helping out with Dance Marathon.”
