LifeLines is scheduled to meet on the morning of Jan. 18 to continue suggesting ideas for Black History Month. Club officers will also receive passes for the cooperative meeting with Diversity Focus Group. Black History Month, which aims to spread awareness of African American history and achievements, will take place through the month of February.
LifeLines sponsor Rebekah Overbey said the campaign has been one of the traditional LifeLines events for several years. LifeLines will cooperate with Diversity Focus Group in planning events for Black History Month.
“We believe you need to do things with other teams to show how we’re working together to break down walls, which is essentially the purpose of Black History Month,” Overbey said.
At the first meeting of the semester, LifeLines members discussed preliminary plans for Black History Month and discussed the arrival of club shirts.
Eric Cui, LifeLines vice president and junior, said, “Black History Month is a great event that we’ve done, and we’re just looking forward to the second semester.”
