The Comedy Sportz team members are preparing for their first meet on Feb. 17 in the Studio Theatre.
According to Bill Pfohl, team member and sophomore, there is a specific format to the meets. After the teams are introduced, they play certain games “head-to-head” and other games by themselves. Both teams play a final game to see who wins the trophy.
Club sponsor Jim Peterson said his role at the meet is to supervise the area and make sure the audience behaves. He usually watches the show from the back, he said.
Peterson said, “I monitor the area and still have time to enjoy the show with everyone else.”
Since this will be Pfohl’s first meet, he said he is really excited and thinks it will be a lot of fun.
Pfohl said, “I am mostly looking forward to being up on stage and getting the reactions of the audience. Hopefully it is laughing and cheering, not booing and tomatoes.”
