With auditions done for the winter production, “Almost Maine,” the cast and crew have started practicing for the production already. Practices are every day Monday through Thursday of every week at the Dale E. Graham Auditorium.
Theater Productions director Maggie Cassidy is at the practices supervising and practicing with the cast and crew. Cassidy said, “I love (the play). It is very relatable as it has to do with relationships.” As director of this production, Cassidy practices as well. “I read the script and analyze it as well. I also prepare the blocking notes (staging notes),” Cassidy said.
Sophomore Matt Hodges auditioned for the production and was called back. “It was a long process and had lots of waiting. It wasn’t very nerve racking,” Hodges said. Hodges is one of the many main roles of the play. When asked how he practices Hodges said, “I memorize lines by myself and practice the character development.” Hodges said he thinks the play is great and he recommends everyone to come out and see it.
Showings for the play are Feb. 7 through Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m. and one 2:30 p.m. showing on Feb. 9. Tickets are available at the door or available online.
