Dine on a Dime, an event that teaches teens how to make foods at home, will take place on Feb. 26 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the program room of the Carmel Clay Public Library (CCPL).
Students will have an opportunity to save money by learning how to make their own food instead of buying them ready-made in a store or restaurant. This event was created in response to a grant from an organization called the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Students can learn more about the event at www.carmel.lib.in.us/calendar/calendar.cfm?dept=Young+Adult.
According to Jamie Beckman, Young Adult Librarian at the CCPL, the best way for CHS students to get involved is to simply be there.
“We hope CHS students will take advantage of it,” Beckman said.
Junior Jimmy Zhang said he is excited about Dine on a Dime.
“I like how the library is doing events like this,” Zhang said. “It’s good that they are teaching us ways to be economically smart.”
