Sophomore William Chen plays for Share the Music at a home for the elderly.
Share The Music Club is scheduled to host a benefit concert March 23. According to Sunhee Han, club president and senior, club members will provide a performance for the community. All proceeds will benefit Third Phase, a local clothing and food pantry, according to Han.
“Share the Music is all about giving back to the community through music,” Han said. “So this concert is a new way for us to reach out.”
According to faculty sponsor James Woomert, club members perform for the community on a regular basis. Members sign up for specific time slots on the club’s website and perform with their friends.
“They just show up and play whatever they want,” said Woomert. “It’s not really an instructional kind of thing, it’s a gathering of people who play instruments.”
