Seniors in the AVID program are planning for the end of the year AVID banquet on May 7 in the freshman cafeteria, according to AVID site coordinator Shannon Woodson.
“Our seniors will work with our senior elective teacher, (Annie) Swain, to determine who the leadership will be for that process, and what role the rest of our seniors will take.” Woodson said.
AVID senior Nicole Parks said she and the other seniors discussed having an AVID fundraising event in March similar to House’s Dance Marathon fundraisers so that a certain amount of AVID student purchases will go towards the catering for the banquet.
“We’ve been discussing different places that we can have (the fundraiser),” Parks said. “We’re in a scrunch of time, and everyone’s getting ready for college since we’re seniors.”
