The cross-country team continued the season placing in the top three for all of their meets. They traveled to Mason, OH to place first against teams among the Midwest. They also defeated Indiana and Kentucky teams in the Trinity Invitational in Louisville, KY.
Daniel Williams, junior and varsity runner said, “The team is much more bonded compared to the last two years. We run for each other and not for ourselves.”
These attributes are important to become a state-winning cross country team according to Head Coach Erhard “Doc” Bell.
Via E-mail Bell said, “The team has come together and developed a ‘Band of Brothers’ attitude that is vital for winning state championships.”
Bell also prepares his squad for state by putting them in the Culver Invitational against Columbus North, the number one ranked team in state, early.
Williams said, “This will be our first big test this year at Culver.”
Bell said, “Culver will be a big meet as it is our first opportunity to compete against Columbus North who is ranked number one in state. Since we are ranked number two it will allow us to see how we can compete against them.”
