The men’s cross-country team will run in the Regional on Oct. 15. Hamilton Southeastern is the competition for the race, being one of Carmel’s biggest rivals for several years. The Regional takes place at Brebeuf High School.
The team continues its daily training according to Head Coach Erhard “Doc” Bell.
Via email, Bell said, “We are trying to have the runners maintain their focus on training and the competitions leading up to the State meet.”
HSE is an important team to beat according to Daniel Williams, varsity runner and junior. Williams said, “(We are) trying to win by more than three points and get our fifth guy up to the leading pack.”
If Carmel places in the top five teams in the Regional, the team will compete in Semistate on Oct. 22 at Northview Church. The state meet takes place Oct. 29 in Terre Haute.
Williams said, “Every race counts for State.”
