Carmel high school’s girls swimming and diving team prepare to compete against North Central Dec. 10 at home. The team has spent the last month getting ready for their season and the girls defeated Center Grove 137 to 49 on Dec. 3. This season the team will compete until mid February and are in search to win their 28th state title, setting a new record of most state titles in the nation. Senior and team captain Hanna House is confident about winning a state title again this year. “This year we have a great strong group of girls who respect each other and know what it takes to be a great team, a team that has won 27 state championships in a row.” House said.
Head coach Chris Plumb is proud to help prepare the girls for this season. “The team has been preparing well for the upcoming meets. We had a great month of November and are looking forward to the meets in December. According to Plumb, the team will succeed by focusing on the process to state and not the result. “If we take care of our own business, than we cannot be stopped.” Plumb said.
