The Paws4Cause Club, new as of this year, has planned for a very active and involved schedule. “The purpose,” co-president and junior Anita Wang said, “is to help animals of all types and to strengthen relationships between animals and humans.”
To achieve this, the club expects to participate in such activities as volunteering at the humane society, providing animal education for students, organizing fundraisers, watching educational movies and documentaries and a multitude of other activities. Club members that are 16 or older can take a special animal handling course if they want to help at the humane society.
Only a call-out meeting has scheduled held so far; no other activities have started yet. The club is focusing mostly on planning its activities and events and consolidating its members for now, so the next few meetings will revolve around planning.
The club meets in Room E204 after school every other Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. The club has no determined amount of members yet, but sponsor Patricia Balchan estimated the number to be around 30. If interested, information papers are available in Room E204, or student members and club founders Wang and juniors Charu Dwivedi and Katie Moorman are available to talk to.
