Throughout November, Chinese teacher Tungfen Lee posted several pictures of students participating in new activities in her classroom. According to Lee, the tweets have been very successful in bringing about support and enthusiasm for her class.
Lee said that the best resource for her to spread the word out about clubs and activities would be her social media accounts.
Lee said, “Whenever we have new activities and events in class, I like to use my Twitter account to tweet about upcoming events. The department chairs are very supportive, so they will always retweet, along with other school accounts.
Lee said that it has been almost two years since she started teaching AP Chinese, and she is already proud of new support she has received.
“It has been very helpful to take advantage of social media, and I have definitely seen growth from the program because of the exposure we get,” she said.
Colin Zou, Chinese student and freshman, said that the Twitter account has been interesting for him as well.
Zou said, “I like seeing new posts of our class when we participate in events. It’s always fun to look at pictures of you or your friends during class because you’re in a much more candid environment. It also helps to let people know about the interesting things we get to do.”
